Stockport, Manchester and the North-West

Stockport

Stockport borough stretches from the borders of the Peak District National Park to cosmopolitan Manchester, and is easily accessible by air, road, or rail making the town an ideal place to live, work and visit.  The town is situated 7 miles South East of Manchester, however Stockport is historically part of the county of Cheshire and is ideally placed for access to North West England and beyond. 45% of the borough is green space, and Stockport is home to some of the North West’s outstanding attractions including Bramhall Hall, and Lyme Park as well as offering an abundance of modern amenities.

Manchester

As the ‘Capital of the North’ Manchester is the third most visited place in the UK by foreign visitors and offers everything from fine dining and chic hotels, to cutting-edge clubs and bars and one of the world's most progressive music scenes. World-class live events, international sporting competitions, and award-winning museums and galleries combine with the passion of two premiership football clubs, and an exceptional programme of drama, dance and comedy to make Manchester one of the most entertaining places in the world.

The past, the present and the future are intertwined in this city that continues to astound. Historical landmarks compliment bold, contemporary structural design, surrounded by beautifully sculptured open spaces where you can reminisce, recuperate or simply have a rest away from the bustling crowds. Manchester's international airport picks the city out as a major UK point of arrival, and the rail and road network allows an easy triangular loop between Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire.

North West England

Cosmopolitan, international cities and charming rural villages, incredible landscapes, vibrant seafronts, thought-provoking heritage, awe-inspiring art – the North West offers the best of Britain.

Cheshire

Easily accessible from the Fichtner office in Stockport Cheshire offers a county of rolling green countryside and manor houses, as well as the notoriously footballer populated town of Alderly Edge.

The Peak District

Derbyshire incorporate some of the region's finest scenery in the rugged landscapes of the Peak District National Park. The Peaks offer great opportunities for moderately strenuous walks, as well as the diversions of the former spa town of Buxton, the limestone caverns of Castleton and the so-called "Plague Village" of Eyam. In addition, there's the grandiose stately pile of Chatsworth House, with its beautiful gardens.
