Lender's Technical Advisor for the construction of Grundon and Viridor's Lakeside EfW Facility, which was successfully commissioned in 2010
Lakeside Energy from Waste Ltd is joint venture between Grundon Waste Management Ltd and Viridor Waste Management Ltd. They have developed a two-stream Energy from Waste plant with a nominal capacity of 440, 000 tpa and export of circa 36 MWe.
The plant has also been designed to allow the future heat export (combined heat and power plant). Takeover was achieved January 2010.
Fichtner is Lender’s Engineer and Technical Adviser for the Bank of Ireland who have provided project finance.
This has included:
- Due diligence assessment of proposed construction contract and technology packages;
- Review of project support agreements (for Lenders);
- Monitoring of the EPC contract.
Under a separate contract, and with a second separate project team, Fichtner also acted as Owner’s Engineer undertaking project management of the EPC and O & M contract.
