Owner's and Lender's Engineer for the Runcorn Thermal power Station, which when complete in 2014 will generate 80 MW of electricity and 54MW of heat for Ineos Chlor's manufacturing plant.
Runcorn Thermal Power Station will receive the SRF from the Greater Manchester area. Phase 1 of the facility began construction in 2009 with phase 2 following in 2010. The site is adjacent to the chlorine manufacturing complex of Ineos Chlor and the SRF on which the plant will be fuelled will be delivered by road and rail. The facility will provide steam and power to the Ineos site.

Fichtner is Owners Engineer and CDM Coordinator during phase 1 and phase 2 of the Runcorn Thermal Power Station construction. Services started from financial close and the effective date of the EPC Contract and will take the project through engineering, construction, commissioning, testing, trial operations, availability trials, extended warranties and the defects liability period for the four stream energy from waste facility at the Runcorn site of Ineos Chlor.

Fichtner are providing full time site supervision, certification of payments, design review, attendance of FATs, and QA services.

The combined Runcorn plant will have a total capacity to treat up to 850,000 tonnes of waste per annum. At full capacity the plant will generate 83.8 MW of electricity and 54 MW of heat.
