Al Hidd Power and Desalination Privatisation, Bahrain

Due diligence on behalf of lead arrangers considering provision of US$700 million for IWPP project. Scope of work also included review of the Bahrain electricity and water market.  Assets included:

  • Phase I – 272 MW co-generation plant 2 x GT13E2 gas turbines and 30 MIGD
  • Phase II – 693 MW combined cycle plant 3 x GT13E2 gas turbines
  • Phase III – Desalination extension of 60 MIGD to be constructed and all three phases to be owned, operated and maintained by the successful bidder under a PWPA

Worked as part of a consortium, responsible for UK technical review:
