Fichtner is one of the UK’s leading technical advisors in the field of biomass having supported the development of all manner of Biomass fuels, including straw, wood, waste, poultry litter, paper sludge, meat & bone meal, and sewage sludge. We fully understand and recognise the unique challenges of developing bankable renewable energy technologies. The design of boilers, combustion and flue gas treatment systems for fuels derived from biomass and wastes are a particular strength of both the Fichtner Group and the UK Fichtner team with exceptional capability in the fields of:

We have a range of tools to assist in the engineering of process and utility installations including thermal cycle simulation and optimisation, power systems analysis, CAD, 3D design and virtual reality simulations and air dispersion modelling.
More than half of our technical staff are chemical or process engineers giving us the skills and expertise to rapidly understand complex process and power generation technologies. This has proved particularly valuable in a UK renewables industry where Fichtner has been extensively involved in reviewing new technologies on behalf of funders, developers and trade associations.
